Pottery Club FAQ

Do I get access to past tutorials?

YES! You absolutely get access to all past tutorials.

What past tutorials are there?

I’m glad you asked... you can browse the back catalogue of tutorials here.

Do I need my own wheel/ kiln to join?

It would be advantageous to have access to a wheel to get the full benefit. Many members who don't have their own wheels have a local community studios where they can use the equipment and get their work fired. They find this combination of my tuition and access to equipment works really well for them.
You absolutely don’t need your own kiln. As well as community studio, many pottery supply stores offer a firing service. You can also use kilnshare.com to find a kiln in your local area.
If you’re ready to buy your own equipment I have written some blog posts which might help you chose the right wheel and kiln for you.

How do you decide what to feature in future tutorials?

I ask my Pottery Club members what they’d like to see and they tell me! I aim to help every single member progress on their pottery journey. Just let me know what you want me to cover.

I live in (fill in the blank) Can I still join Kara's Pottery Club?

YES! You can join from anywhere in the world. I currently have members from the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Europe, Norway, Iceland, Sweden and Shri Lanka and the UK. My Pottery Club is hosted in English because that is the language I speak. Every tutorial is subtitled in English. The host platform has the facility to translate the subtitles into many languages including: Spanish, Japanese Russian, French, Portuguese, Polish, Italian, Indonesian, and many more.

I have a pottery question can I ask you?

Absolutely! I aim to answer every question my Pottery Club Members ask me via Patreon messenger or email within 48 hours (often it’s much quicker than that). You membership pledges enable me to commit that time. I get asked a ton of questions about pottery on Instagram everyday - it would be impossible to get back to everyone on social media, Pottery Club is a way of sharing my knowledge in a sustainable way.

How many videos do I get a month?

I create at least one new video tutorial every month, this allows you time to practice the techniques, ask me questions, share your makes (if you want to) and trouble shoot alongside the rest of the community. You also get access to ALL past tutorials = plenty to keep you busy if you’re hungry for more. I also share regular behind the scenes post, mini-tutorials, make challenges, tips, pottery articles, recommendations, books you may find interesting and much, much more in-between.

How much is it?

Membership costs only £11 per month (ex VAT) That’s roughly $14 USD. If you’re outside of the UK you won’t need to pay VAT only your local taxes. And if you sign up for a year you get 12 months membership for the price of 10! You can sign up for a 7 day free trial with no strings attached. JOIN HERE.

What happens if I want to cancel?

You can cancel anytime and I won’t think any less of you.
Please note members can not get a refund if signed up to the annual membership.

Is it possible to gift Pottery Club Membership?

Yes it is! Pottery Club annual membership makes a really great gift for a pottery mad loved one.
Patreon doesn’t have a ‘gift function’ at the moment (they’re working on it) but all you need to do is sign up using your own email address then swap the email address to the recipient’s email after they have received their gift. This article shows you how to do it. Drop me a message to let me know the membership is a gift and we can make it special together.
